Volunteer

 

Volunteers are the heart of each Family Promise Affiliate.

 

Our dedicated volunteers help support the programming with spending time at A Place to Be, interacting with our guests there, helping with showers, laundry, meals, coffee, checking people in, answering questions, and much more, allowing the staff to provide case management. Getting to know our guests, listening to them and being there when someone succeeds in achieving housing are joyful moments!

Volunteer Application
We are looking for enthusiastic and caring members of our community to create change. A Place to Be Day Services proudly supports our community's population who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Join us by taking a stand and making a difference in a person's life. You can do this by volunteering for our Day Services!
As a volunteer of our organization, I agree to abide by the policies and procedures. I understand that I will be volunteering at my own risk and that the organization, its employees, and affiliates/partners, cannot assume any responsibility or any liability for any accident, injury or health problem which may arise from any volunteer work I perform for the organization. I agree that all the work I do is on a volunteer basis, and I am not eligible to receive any monetary payment or reward. I agree to participate in various trainings that are required to volunteer at the Day Center.

Internships

We have partnered with students from East Tennessee State University, King University, and Emory & Henry College fulfilling a variety of service learning and program competencies; contact us for opportunities developing experience and skills in social work, communications and marketing, business, accounting and other areas.
